Shimano Ultegra R8000 SPD-SL Carbon Pedals

Optimal power transfer and feeling of control
These pedals have a widened pedal surface and the pedal body is lowered. Due to the larger surface, your pedalling efficiency is greatly improved and you will be cycling both faster and with more control. The lowered pedal body ensures that no power is lost when pedalling. This also maximises the balance between low weight and maximum power transfer. Plus, the spring tension is adjustable, so you can adjust how easily you clip in and out of your pedal.

Double bearings
This pedal rotates around a stainless steel axle with double cup-conus stainless steel bearing in both pedals. This makes the pedal more resistant to the weather, as well as sand and mud. That's why this Shimano Ultegra R8000 SPD-SL pedal will improve your performance, and last a lot longer!

Wide axle
The Ultegra R8000 SPD-SL pedal is also available with an axle with 4mm extra width. That extra width is useful if you have a large shoe size, because in that case you have a larger chance of hitting the crank or chainstays. If you have wide hips, or keep your knees far apart while cycling, the wider spindle is also a good choice. 4mm is also nice if you're a mountain biker and are used to a wider Q-factor (the distance between the two cranks) from mountain biking.

• Andere schoenplaatjes dan de originele Shimano SM-SH10/11/12: gebruik uitsluitend deze plaatjes voor een betrouwbare in- en uitklikwerking.

Twijfel je? Zo check je het
Kijk op de zool van je fietsschoen: zie je 3 losse boutgaten in een driehoekvorm, dan heb je een 3-bouts systeem en past dit SPD-SL pedaal. Twijfel je over het astype, kies dan de Normaal-uitvoering: de 4 mm-uitvoering kiezen mensen doorgaans naar aanleiding van een bikefit, waarbij een fitter specifiek heeft vastgesteld dat een langere as nodig is. Is dat bij jou niet het geval, dan is Normaal de juiste keuze.

Breng een kleine hoeveelheid vet aan op de schroefdraad en monteer de pedalen met een 8 mm inbussleutel of 15 mm moersleutel, met een aanhaalmoment van 35 tot 55 Nm. Let op: het rechterpedaal heeft een gewone (rechtse) schroefdraad, het linkerpedaal een linkse schroefdraad (herkenbaar aan de inkeping in het uiteinde van de as). Zet daarna de schoenplaatjes tijdelijk vast onder je schoen, stel de positie af door herhaaldelijk in en uit te klikken, en draai de bevestigingsbouten pas definitief aan (5-6 Nm) als je de optimale positie hebt gevonden.
